A local Mum Casey has been bringing people together, spreading hope and smiles through rainbows 🌈. As it's Easter weekend we hope you can join in to spread the hope even further... reposting from the group @203rainbowhunt : "Hi everyone! I grew up in the 518 (Upstate NY) and was inspired by Kristyn Dayter who created a group called the 518 Rainbow Hunt (join there too, it’s amazing!). It exploded, and is bringing joy to everyone (and beyond) the 518. With Kristyn’s blessing, I decided to create a 203 group. So, post your rainbow creations, drawings, things in nature, anything! Honey: antibacterial, allergy relief, energy boost

Honey: antibacterial, allergy relief, energy boost, natural form of sugar. Spread over toast, oatmeal, pancakes, mix in tea, plop into smoothies, make a face mask!

Cayenne pepper (a personal favorite): blood cleansing, sinus relief (spicy!). Sprinkle over everything and anything. I like it on fried eggs, popcorn, and in my rice and quinoa (cooked with broth). Coconut oil: antibacterial! Swap out olive oil or butter with coconut oil, minus maybe your green veggies (makes it too sweet IMO). Amazing with eggs, popcorn, oatmeal, glazed carrots, and sweet potato.
Turmeric: anti-inflammatory, digestive aid. Cook with it! A little goes a long way. Much of the foods I put cayenne pepper on, I also sprinkle turmeric.

Leafy greens: Vitamin A and C, alkaline (helps balance acidity in the body), detoxifying, and also, kale and broccoli have calcium too. Darker leafy greens make much better salads when gently massaged with clean hands, a touch of olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. Not in a salad mood? Stir-fry! Or make a yummy veggie omelette.
Acv (apple cider vinegar): ph balancing, acid reflux relief, cleansing, detoxifying. Make yourself a morning tonic two tablespoons ACV, dollop raw honey, and either cinnamon or cayenne pepper, mix it all with hot water for a seriously regenerative morning drink.
Phew! A lot to get through but small habits MATTER. Think about how small a literal virus is... just sayin'. Instead of worrying about what to avoid in a diet, use this time to figure out what truly NOURISHES your body from the inside out. Knowing what makes your body right can be more powerful than you may realize.
Take care, and don't forget lemons when you go shopping too! They're just always good to have.
